Reflection garden
Our Reflection Garden is reached by walking along our nature trail which is lined with hand-carved seasonal markers. This sheltered, nature-rich space is entered through an archway of trees which opens out into a peaceful planted space which is full of cherry blossom and daffodils in the Spring. We are proud that this lovely area is now registered with Silent Space. Garden writer, Liz Ware started Silent Space in 2016, initially as a not-for-profit project. A handful gardens open to the public took part in a pilot and reserved a biodiverse area where people could be silent. Visitors to these areas were invited to switch off from the outside world and to take time to reflect.
In our silent space there are seats and bird feeders for visitors to enjoy, as well as a wind phone for those wanting to reflect and find comfort and healing. The garden is enclosed on one side by our heritage apple orchard and on the other by our woodland, helping visitors to benefit from this contemplative and nurturing space.
